Introduction

The Department of Children's Literature, Films, Museum, and Physical Education (CLFMPE) at Children's Research University is committed to promoting the holistic development of children through a multidisciplinary approach. Established in 2024, the department is dedicated to integrating creative arts, instructional media, historical awareness, and physical health into the lives of young learners.

At its foundation, children's literature serves as a powerful tool for nurturing moral values and intellectual growth, offering diverse genres and narratives that inspire young minds. The film studies segment complements this by examining how visual storytelling can stimulate cognitive, emotional, and ethical development in children.

The museum section enriches children's understanding of India’s rich cultural and historical heritage through carefully curated exhibits and interactive programs. These efforts help foster a deep sense of identity and awareness of the past.

Equally important, physical education encourages children to develop discipline, teamwork, and physical fitness. By promoting traditional Indian games alongside modern sports, the department creates a healthy balance between physical activity and academic growth, instilling values like sportsmanship and resilience.

Through these various initiatives, CLFMPE supports the holistic development of children, shaping responsible, well-rounded individuals who can contribute meaningfully to society.

Functions

1) Children’s Literature and Film Programs

Establishes a research hub for the study and promotion of children’s literature, offering resources for innovation in storytelling and child development.

Hosts Children’s Literature Creator Forums and Children’s Literature Expert Forums, providing platforms for creative and scholarly exchanges.

Organizes storytelling, poetry, and drama camps, seminars, and creation competitions to enhance children's literary and creative expression.

Conducts film screenings approved by the Indian Children’s Film Society and other child-focused institutions, aiding in children's mental and emotional development through visual media.

2) Museum

Features galleries displaying India’s ancient sciences, philosophies, arts, and cultural heritage, offering children an immersive educational experience.

Conducts hands-on workshops, including 'Let’s Know Our Museum,' Heritage Week, conservation programs, and activities like miniature painting, molding, and casting, to foster creativity and engage children with history and culture.

3) Physical Education

Coordinates sports activities through Sports Forums and promotes the revival of traditional Indian games, contributing to the preservation of cultural heritage.

Hosts Under-11 Athletics Meets at state and national levels, nurturing early sports talent and encouraging physical fitness.

Facilitates physical and mental development through a variety of national festivals, NSS activities, and educational programs aimed at instilling patriotism, social responsibility, and discipline.

4) Courses and Training

Offers a diverse range of educational programs including Ph.D. programs, postgraduate diplomas, certificate courses, and online courses.

Conducts short-term courses (STC) and workshops designed to enhance skills and knowledge in areas of children's literature, films, and physical education, contributing to both personal and academic growth.

5) Community Outreach and Collaboration

Collaborates with institutions to provide workshops and seminars on children's literature, culture, and physical education.

Partners with national and international organizations to expand the scope of research, education, and engagement in child development.
