Introduction

Department of Gijubhai Elementary Education and Training (GEET) derives its name from a legendary educator Shree Gijubhai Badheka. The educator who assisted in introducing Montessori education methods to India. He is referred to as "Moochhali Maa". Shree Gijubhai Badheka was a high court lawyer by profession; however, following the birth of his son ‘Narendra’ in 1923, he discovered the vocation in childhood development. His approaches towards child development Education has contributed a lot in the education system.

The Department of GEET finds Gijubhai Badheka a torch bearer for the education, training and holistic development of a Child. GEET department strives to initiate research for Holistic Child Development and help the society to inculcated Indian Knowledge system to make the world a family.

To ensure foundational Education of equitable quality for all to have holistic development of Children

Objectives

To improve and strengthen quality and standards of foundational stage learning through innovative practices at Vidyavatika and elsewhere in the state
To enhance and strengthen the quality and capacity of the teachers of elementary education through training programmes
To create eco system to implement the policies of the Government pertaining to the foundational stage learning
To create and develop innovative pedagogies and approaches , learning aids and materials for improvement of foundational learning
To conduct research studies to understand the present education system and suggest the change that is demanded by the contemporary time.

Gijubhai Badheka Awards for Shresth Balguru and Shreshth Balvatika
Lecture Series: To promote Educational Philosophy, innovations, reformations, improvement of quality of foundational education by organizing lecture series, dialogues, deliberations, symposium etc.
