About Department

Department of Social Work had its existence in 2018-19 at Children’s University, Gandhinagar. The department at its initial stage catering to the needs of the society by learning about it and practicing the learning obtained from it. The course curriculum is designed as per the CBCS pattern prescribed by the UGC and offers the papers of special interest in the area of Family and Child Welfare, Rural Development, Tribal Development, Psychosocial Counseling, NGO Management, Micro Finance and Livelihood, Dynamics of Human behaviour etc. The department has initiated outreach activities in nearby rural communities.

To be an excellent institution of constant learning and practice of human values and universal brotherhood, integration of the needs of the individual and society at large for the promotion of Universal peace and serenity in vernacular language.

•To come up as a learning institute that provides dynamic, interdisciplinary and critical learning ambience.

•To emerge as a leading institute in quality and excellence in providing indigenous Social Work knowledge that could be implemented at micro, mezzo and macro level.

•To provide theory, practice and research exposure to students in Social Work to be the shapers of new Bharat To make attempts to study and evaluate the schemes of Government and suggest the remedial strategies.

•Functioning as a change agent through advocacy and provision of responsive service delivery to address contemporary social issues and challenges
